Leo Von Clausburg

Leo von Clausburg, of Pickerington, passed away June 30, 2017 following an extended illness. He was born March 29, 1935 in Chillicothe, Ohio, the son of the late Howard von Clausburg and Arietta Dunfee von Clausburg. On October 24, 1953 he and Louise Butterbaugh were united in marriage. They have been blessed by a daughter, Joy Lee Maxwell, and two granddaughters, Megan Maxwell of Chillicothe and Morgan Maxwell of Columbus. Leo is survived by a sister, Barbara McCambridge, of Canal Winchester and a brother, Howard (Linda) von Clausburg of Indiana. He was preceded in death by a brother, Theodore "Buzzy" von Clausburg and a son-in-law Robert Maxwell.                 Leo was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He was a retiree of Nationwide Insurance Company, having worked in both the Columbus and Cincinnati offices as a Computer System Administrator. He was an avid golfer and loved the Cincinnati Reds. His enjoyment for having played softball for River Oil, Penton Nursing Home, and various Mead teams, was very special to him. Leo will be remembered as a gentle and kind soul. Friends may call 12:00-12:45pm Saturday, July 8 th at Haller Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1:00pm at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Lawrence Hummer, Celebrant.
