Leland Mckeever

L. Ray McKeever L. Ray McKeever, 65, of Chillicothe, died 10:40 am January 1, 2006 following an extended illness. He was born November 3, 1940 in White Sulfur Springs, WV to James E. and Ida L. Wright McKeever. Survivors include a daughter, Teresa (Erin) Rinehart, of Chillicothe; three sons, Gregory (Becky Coates) McKeever, and Dennis (Bobbie) McKeever, all of Chillicothe and Leland R. McKeever II, at home; eight grandchildren, Jesse, Taryn, Casey, Sean, Steven, Shane, Megan and Nickolas; a sister, Dorothy G. Decamp; a brother, James K. (Ramona) McKeever, all of Chillicothe; a nephew, Dain; two nieces, Lori and Jill; his companion, Sharon Barnhart and her grandchildren, Alice, Lexis, Wyatt, Haley, Devin and Austen; and a special friend, Ed Gahm. He was preceded in death by two half-brothers. Mr. McKeever retired after 32 years of service as a Lieutenant with the Ross County Sheriff Department. He was a member of the National Sheriff Association and the Buckeye State Sheriff Association. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Thursday in the Haller Funeral Home, Rev. Fred Fox officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call 4-8 pm Wednesday and one hour prior to the service at Haller's.
