Laura Koss

Laura M. Koss, 83, of Chillicothe, died at 8:40pm Thursday, June 30, 2011, in Adena Regional Medical Center. She was born June 3, 1928, in Queens, NY, to the late John and Margaret (Gangloff) Gorsuch. On March 15, 1953, she married Howard Koss, who together enjoyed 58 years of marriage. Survivors include her husband, Howard; her daughter Deborah Koss, of Chillicothe; son and daughter-in-law David (Georgie) Koss, Dumfries, VA; son Michael Koss, Columbus, OH; sisters Dorothy Fixler, of California; Irene Abdul; Jacqueline Ruoff; and Judith Ogden, all of Virginia; and several beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; a sister Joan Gorsuch; and a brother John Gorsuch, Jr. Laura was a registered nurse having worked at the former Chillicothe Hospital and Adena Regional Medical Center before her retirement in 1983. She remained active and involved with Adena Health System serving on the Board of Directors and on the Volunteer Council. She was also a member of the Nurses Guild. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Sunday, July 10, at the Haller Funeral Home with Matt Ballentine officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from 6-8pm at Haller Funeral Home.
