Larry Wisecup

June 15, 1940 — March 11, 2021

Larry Keith Wisecup, 80, of Chillicothe, passed away Thursday afternoon, March 11, 2021 following a brief battle with cancer.
He was born June 15, 1940 in Chillicothe, Ohio, son of the late Delbert and Inez (Ward) Wisecup.
Surviving are his two children, Angela (Charles Delong) Wisecup, and Eric (Vicky Hess) Wisecup, both of Chillicothe; two grandchildren, Benjamin V. Trimble, of Cincinnati, and Brooke A. (Nick) Wisecup Sprague, of Dellroy, OH; two great-grandchildren, Bryar M. and Nash G. Sprague, both of Dellroy; two siblings, Karen Wisecup Voris, of Newark, and Cheryl Wisecup Butler, of Chillicothe; a brother-in-law, Charlie Thompson, of Wilmington; his lifelong friends, Richard (Vicki) Copp, Doug Ray, and Jack Warf; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Wisecup, as well as two sisters, Barbara Ann Wisecup, and Deloris Wisecup Thompson.
A very special thank you is extended to Vicky Hess for all of her love and dedication to Larry and the entire family during this difficult time.
Larry was a graduate of Twin High School, Class of 1958. He went on to join the United States Army in October 1958, where he proudly served for four years before being honorably discharged in February 1962. He worked in the Receiving Department at the Kenworth Trucking Company for many years before finally retiring. He was a member of the AMVETS Post 4, a former member of the Ross County Shrine Club, a member of the Moose Lodge, and a former Chillicothe Police Officer. In his free time, he loved fishing, traveling to Mexico every year, taking rides, and going to flea markets. But most of all he loved getting to spend time with his family.
The family would like to thank the Adena Hospice Group for the care given to Larry over the last several weeks.
A private visitation for family and close friends will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at the Haller Funeral Home. Military graveside honors, conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard will take place at 1:30pm in Twin Township Cemetery on Tuesday.
