Larry Wayne Ashworth, 77, of Circleville, died early Thursday morning, October 24, 2024 at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, follow an extended illness.
He was born July 24, 1947, in Chillicothe, son of the late Gilbert B. and Louise (Denner) Ashworth. On March 15, 1968, he married his beloved wife, Brenda Ann McCorkle, who preceded him in death on February 12, 2022.
Surviving are their sons, Brian (Addie) Ashworth, and Tommy (Tennille) Ashworth; four grandchildren, Ian, Lydia, Madison, and Buckley Ashworth; his siblings, Harold "Joe", Gary, Jeff, Delbert, and Cathy; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald, Ivan, Frank, and Keith; and his sisters, Julia, Mary, and Helen.
Larry was a graduate of Chillicothe High School, class of 1966. Following his graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served honorably from September 7, 1966 to September 6, 1968. Upon his return home, he enrolled in the Portsmouth Business College where he received his Associates Degree. He then spent the next 32 years working for DuPont, where he retired as a supervisor in 2001. In his free time, he loved spending time with his family.
A visitation will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at the Haller Funeral Home for family and friends. Military graveside services will be held at a later date in Grandview Cemetery.
