LaChona Ann Ferguson

With heavy hearts and immense shock, our family announces the sudden passing of LaChona Ann Ferguson, age 60, of Piketon, Ohio on October 24, 2026.

Born on August 17, 1966 to Patsy Jo Pierce. LaChona loved nothing more in life than being a mother and a Mimi. She loved her kids and grandkids more than life itself. She was always the life of the party at family functions and loved a good laugh, even if she was the brunt of the joke. She was always our first phone call, even when we knew she wouldn’t have the answer, but she was our safe space anyway. LaChona loved helping people. She would go without 100% of the time if that meant you didn’t. She had a great passion for fighting against cancer with Relay for Life. LaChona had a great love for traveling. She loved seeing new sights and documenting those with her recent hobby of photography. LaChona will be remembered most for her giant heart, her deeply sentimental soul, and the unconditional love she poured into her family.

She is survived by her 4 children, Sarah (Drex Welch) Richter, Jeff Richter, Katy (Nathan) Brisker, and Sabrina (Ethan) LaCoste; and her six beloved grandchildren, Keegan, Aarolin, Kinley, Kasen, Ella, and Enslea.

A celebration of LaChona’s life will be held from 5:00pm-8:00pm on Thursday, October 29, 2026 at the Haller Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made in her honor to the Haller Funeral Home to assist with expenses.
