L. Beatrice Reedy, 86, of Chillicothe, formerly of Altamonte Springs, FL, died Saturday at 8:29am January 21, 2017 at Westmoreland Place.
She was born June 11, 1930, in Palatka, FL, to the late Stanton and Cleo (Barrington) Thomas. Surviving are her daughters and son-in-law Linda M. Beckner, of Denton, TX, and Mary and James Keith Simmons, of Chillicothe; grandchildren: Geoffrey Beckner, Nicole Beckner, Dawn Golden, Aubree Huggins, Sarah Griggs, and Hannah Simmons; great-grandchildren: Scott Quinn, Devan Golden, Kaylah Huggins, Logan Huggins, Carleigh Beckner, Ethan Beckner, Evangeline Griggs and Bennett Griggs; a brother and sister-in-law David and Nan Thomas, of Texas; sisters Minnie Campbell, of Texas, and Lynell Wilson, of Altamonte Springs, FL; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Murlan John Reedy, a sister Ophelia Pons; and brothers: Wilfred Thomas and Fulton Thomas. Bea graduated from Cambridge High School, in Cambridge, KS. After starting a family, she went back to complete her degree, which she did in 1957. She worked as a waitress and hostess. Funeral services will be held at 4pm Wednesday, January 25, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory, with preacher Jack Ables officiating. Graveside services will be held at Noon Friday, January 27, in Highland Memorial Gardens, under the direction of Collison Family Funeral Home, Winter Park, FL.
