Chillicothe, Ohio – Jesus, the world's greatest gatherer of gatherings and preparer of great feasts has called our gatherer and great preparer of feasts home on October 14th, 2024.
Born in Chillicothe on July 24th, 1958 to the late Herman Scaggs and Ragene Y. (Clary) Scaggs. Krista is survived by her loving mother Ragene, Brother Michael B. Scaggs, Sister-in-law, best friend and caregiver Rebecca Sparks, niece Misty N. Hammond-Scaggs (Michael D. Hammond), her great-niece Mackenzie Grace Scaggs, and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many wonderful friends. Krista was preceded in death by her father Herman Scaggs, paternal grand-parents John & Ethel Scaggs and maternal grand-parents Lloyd & Ruby Clary.
At a young age Krista learned to cook, can, bake and sew with her grandparents. She could drive anything including the old farm tractors on the farm she grew up on. The Eagle Mills farm house was a place she loved so much.
Krista was a fierce friend, an even fiercer mother figure and business owner. For years she owned concession stands with her brother, where you may have seen her at area fairs and festivals. She decided to open her own restaurant in early 2000 in the town she grew up in. McArthur Ohio, is where she spent her younger years growing up. For the past 20 plus years of working in McArthur she has made many friends and helped many organizations in the community. Thank you, McArthur, for loving her and her noodles.
Krista was a CHS Alumni class of 1976 and enjoyed watching her great niece play tennis and swim for the same school. She enjoyed bright colors, family gatherings and her many cats. Her departure has left a deep wound in the hearts of her family and is felt by countless others who loved her deeply.
There will be no viewing or services per Krista's wishes, however there will be a celebration of life to honor Krista for family and friends early November, 2024.
