Kevin Case
June 4, 1965 — September 7, 2025
Kevin Jack Case, 60 of Chillicothe, Ohio, passed peacefully in the arms of his loving wife, Wendy, and the presence of a devoted family on September 7, 2025. He closed his eyes and took his last breath while listening to Elvis's "How Great Thou Art."
Kevin was born on June 4, 1965 to Jack and Shelby (Barnes) Case. He is survived by his mother Shelby and his sister Kelly (Kit) Bennett.
Kevin married Wendy, daughter of John and Brenda Dreitzler, on November 11, 2000 after becoming inseparable upon their first encounter on Halloween in 1997. Kevin adored Wendy tremendously and built her a dream home and took her on many amazing adventures.
Kevin was a supportive and loving father to Jamie (Chad) Hendershot, Keyla (Rocky) Case, Kody Case, Sasha ( Billy) Putnam, April (Chris) Putnam, Holly (Zach) Stephenson, and Israel (Crystal) Putnam. Poppa spoiled his grandchildren Madison, Cole, Bella, AJ, Malachi, Cade, Raeley, Case, Aidan, Charleigh, Max and Cas. He was the fun uncle to Matt (Holly) Bennett, Shana (Jason) Bennett, Sarah (Richard) Garrison and great uncle to Layne, Courtney, Logan, Hope, and Morgan.
Kevin was a basketball star and graduate of Zane Trace High School, class of 1983. He served 30 years as a Corrections Officer at RCI where he was viewed as an officer who "taught others right from wrong inside and outside the fence and always served and took care of his fellow officers."
Kevin liked anything competitive including softball, basketball, cornhole, hunting and even sand volleyball at the Garrisons' pond. He loved Elvis, The Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Cleveland Browns. He had so many close friends and neighbors including best friends Nate, Roman, Jay, Ryan, Chris and Sasha, and his loyal companion King.
Kevin was preceded in death by his father Jack Case and his grandson AJ Corey.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 1:00pm, with Butch Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may join the family for visitation on Thursday evening from 5:00pm-8:00pm. In honor of Kevin, please wear OSU or Browns gear to the viewing.
