Kent Lee Crabtree, 46, of Kingston, died June 9, 2013, outside Beckley WV, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born July 15, 1966 in Portsmouth, OH to Paul (Brenda) Crabtree and LaVonda (Sam) Crabtree Cummings, who survive. On September 8, 1990 he married Virginia S. Silva, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Enrique J. Crabtree, at home and Gayle M. Young, of North Carolina; his grandchildren, Braxton and Nicholas Young, and he was expecting another; a brother, Ronald P. Crabtree, of Chillicothe; two sisters, Angela J. Crabtree, of Ashland, KY and Regina G. (Bill) Mahle, of Cincinnati; two step-brothers, Steve and Scott Dodson; his mother and father-in-law, Ciro and Susan Silva, of San Marcos, Texas; two brothers-in-law, Ciro Silva Jr, of Kyle, Texas, and Enrique Silva, of Austin, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Rebecca Nagar and Victoria Silva, both of San Marcos, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandmother, Evelyn McDowell and a brother, James Crabtree. Mr. Crabtree was a mental health counselor and a US Navy veteran. He was also an advocate for the rescue of pit bulls, including his four dogs. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 am Monday at St. Mary Church, Rev. Lawrence Hummer, Celebrant. Military graveside services, conducted by the US Navy, will follow in Dayton National Cemetery. Friends may call 7:30 am to 9:15 am Monday at Haller Funeral Home.
