Kenneth J. Kessler Kenneth J. Kessler, 35, of Chillicothe, died Sunday, January 27, 2008, in his home, unexpectedly. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 am Thursday in St. Mary Church, Rev. Lawrence Hummer and Rev. William Hahn, Celebrants. A second Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am Saturday, in the Holy Angels Catholic Church, Sandusky, OH. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 pm Wednesday at the Haller Funeral Home, where a wake service will be held at 8:00 pm; or 4-8 pm Friday at the Groff Funeral Home, Sandusky. Ken was born October 5, 1972 in Sandusky, OH to James E. and Carole A. Cutcher Kessler, who survive. On August 1, 1998 he married Christina "Chrissy" M. Andrus, also surviving. In addition to his wife and parents, survivors include his two daughters, Hannah R. and Margaret A. Kessler, at home; three sisters, Kathy Kessler, of Elyria, Karen (Mike) Claar, and Patty Kessler, both of Sandusky; a brother, Michael (Debbie) Kessler, of Sandusky; his mother and father-in-law, Tom and Connie Andrus, of Dublin, OH; three brothers-in-law, Tim (Laura) Andrus, Matthew Andrus, and David Andrus, all of Columbus; and several nieces; nephews; and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents. Ken was a graduate of St. Mary's Central Catholic School, Sandusky. He got his undergraduate degree in Religious Studies; a minor in Political Science; and his Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Dayton. He taught at the St. Joseph Central Catholic School, Fremont, OH; and has served as Principal of Bishop Flaget School since 2001. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus; the National Association of Elementary School Principals; the National Catholic Educational Association; and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. He was also an organ donor. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kenneth J. Kessler Memorial Fund, Ross County Banking Center, 222 E. Main St., Chillicothe, OH 45601 for the benefit of his children; the Bishop Flaget School Endowment Fund, 570 Parsons Ave., Chillicothe, OH 45601or the Sandusky Central Catholic School Education Foundation. A fun-loving daddy, devoted husband, who will be sorely missed on this earth. Ken lived a life full of faith. He felt very strongly about the importance of Catholic Education and truly enjoyed his job as principal of Bishop Flaget School.
