Kenneth Howard
September 23, 1945 — August 17, 2024
Kenneth Earl Howard, 78, of Chillicothe, passed away peacefully at his home at 3:29pm on August 17, 2024, following an extended illness.
He was born September 23, 1945, in Chillicothe, to the late Clayton and Ramona (Anders) Howard. Following his father's untimely death, his mother remarried William Sibrell, who raised Kenneth. On July 14, 1966, he married the former Judith E. Carroll, who survives.
Also surviving are his children: Madalyn Wagner, of Chillicothe, Kandy (Jeff) Grubb, Columbus, Carla (Tony) Elliott, of Londonderry, Ramona (Nick) Corcoran, Chillicothe, and Joyce Baker, Chillicothe; 9 grandchildren: Greg and Tim Luther; Holly Sparks; Kenneth, Taylor, Emily and Nick Corcoran; Kendra and Eric Baker; numerous great-grandchildren; and sisters Sherry (Gary) Blazer, of Florida, and Joyce (Kenneth) Moody, Chillicothe. In addition to his parents and step-father, he was predeceased by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Kenneth was a proud Ironworker, out of Local 172, for over 50 years. His favorite place to be was in his garage. He restored many automobiles over the years, but his favorites by far were the 1955 Oldsmobiles. His greatest satisfaction came after selling his cars to people all over the world and knowing they were being enjoyed and appreciated. If you couldn't find Kenny in the garage, he would be in the "Man Cave." He loved company and everyone was welcome. He was always up for a jam session singing country music and playing his guitar. He will be remembered for his quick wit and storytelling. He had been a member of the Eagles, Aerie 600, where he was a Golden Eagle; and the Loyal Order of Moose 1626.
The family would like to thank Dr. Jerry Kunz and Debra King for their care of Kenneth throughout his extended illness, and thank NCR Hospice for their care in his final hours.
His funeral service will be held at 2pm Saturday, August 24, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from Noon until 2pm Saturday at the funeral home. Following the graveside committal, the family will host a reception at the Eagle, 378 Douglas Ave., Chillicothe.
