Kenneth Cottrill

Kenneth R. "Bob" Cottrill, 91, of Chillicothe, died December 29, 2015 at the Adena Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness. He was born July 27, 1924 in Ross Co. to the late Kenneth F. and Audrey M. Poole Cottrill. He was raised by his late grandparents, John and Fannie Cottrill. Survivors include a son, Daniel (Lucy) Cottrill, of Hilton Head, NC; a daughter, Rebecca (Terry) Hines, of Chillicothe; a daughter-in-law, Robin Cottrill, of Chillicothe; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and good friends, Betty Preston, and her family, and Bernie Davis. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Ortman Cottrill, his second wife, Beverly Kirk Cottrill, a son, Jeffery Cottrill, and a grandson, John. Bob retired from the Chillicothe Telephone Company and had worked for the Chillicothe Correctional Institution. He was a Past Exalted Ruler of the Chillicothe Elks 52, served on the Ross Co. Fair Board, and was involved in the Mt. Logan Riding Club. Graveside services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, January 2, 2016 in Greenlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. Calling hours will not be observed. Memorial contributions may be made to the Adena Health Foundation, Heart Fund, 272 Hospital Rd., Chillicothe, OH 45601, or the donor's favorite charity.
