Keith Beard

Keith R. Beard, 68, of Chillicothe, passed away early Wednesday morning, April 7, 2021 at Mt. Carmel East hospital, following an extended illness.

He was born August 5, 1952 in Chillicothe, son of the late James W. and Dorothy E. (Cole) Beard, Sr. On September 15, 1972, he married his beloved wife Wendy (Keels) Beard, and shared over 48 years of marriage.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by their children, Lisa (Ebenzer) Ahinakwah, Keith (Kelly) Beard, and Jeremy Beatty; grandchildren, Cole Walker, Renee Beard, Corey Lawson, Jr., Raen Beard, Darius Lawson, Laila Diane; great-grandchildren, Kiah'Anna, Hudson, Adyen, and Jayce; siblings, George (Helen) Beard, Lonnie (Delores) Beard, Patrick (Terry) Beard, Danny Beard, Jeff (Mary) Beard, Joyce Hardin, and Linda Beard; a sister-in-law, Christina Beard; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Gloria (John) Winfield, Diana Joyner, James (Gail) Beard, and Patricia Smith; and his infant brother, Timmy Beard.

Keith was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Navy, serving during Vietnam. He went on to work for the Kenworth Trucking Company for many years. In his free time, he liked going to Scioto Downs and the Casino, he loved traveling with his family, attending family gatherings, and working on cars. He and his wife Wendy owned and operated the Sunset Limousine Company, serving Chillicothe and the surrounding areas for many years.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at the former Zion Baptist Church, 536 Mill Street, Chillicothe, with Pastor Obadiah Harris officiating. Military graveside honors conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may join the family for a visitation from 11:00am until the time of the service.
