Kathy Thornton

Kathy I. Thornton, 56, of Chillicothe, went home to be with the Lord Friday December 22, 2006, in Grant Medical Center following an extended illness. She was born October 20, 1950, in Chillicothe to the late Conner and Alverna "Cookie" Strausbaugh Elliott. On February 20, 1981, she married William Richard "Rick" Thornton, who preceded her in death January 27, 2006. Surviving are her two daughters, Cookie Thornton and Raven Martinez, both of Columbus; a granddaughter Julia Rose; her brother Harry Elliott, Chillicothe; a loving niece Michelle and nephew Tyke, and their children: Ashley, Amanda "Bucket", Adam, Aaron, Austin, and Isaac; and special friends Rose and Doug Medlin and Sherry Hammond. Kathy retired from the VA Medical Center in 1996, where she had worked as a Details Clerk. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday, December 27, at the Haller Funeral Home with Rev. Marty Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8pm at Haller Funeral Home.
