Kathy "Katt" Marriott
August 25, 1962 — May 30, 2025
Kathy (Katt) J Marriott passed away at home after a three-year hard-
fought battle with cancer on May 30, 2025, at the age of 62.
She was born in Waverly, OH on August 25, 1962, to the late Paul and Helen
(Russell) Brownfield. She married Rick Marriott on January 1, 1998.
She is survived by husband, Rick Marriott; children, Ashlea (Dan)
Mahorney, and Josh (Marisa) Marriott; grandchildren, Jackson Hicks,
Talon Mahorney, and Isabella Lawhorn; siblings, Diana Leffler,
Teanna (Gill) Willis, Paula (Dave) Ault, and Patricia (Wayne)
Alderman. She will also be sadly missed by her many nieces,
nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
Kathy is preceded in death by her parents and grandchildren, Abigail
Marriott and Kayden McWhorter.
Kathy was the Past President of the Jr. Civic League, owner of Katz
Hair Design, Past President of Ohio Career Cosmetology Teacher
Association (OCCTA), OEA, member of the Deer Clan of ANI-
TSA'LAGI Cherokee Nation, Chillicothe Kiwanis, St. Mary's Catholic
Church and one of the founding members of the Pink Pack Tribe.
Katt taught Cosmetology at PRCTC for 20 years and finished her
career as the school's homeless coordinator. She greatly valued her
friends, co-workers and students.
Katt loved spending time with family and friends especially her
grandchildren. She enjoyed beading, shopping for her family,
planting flowers, following OSU football on TV and traveling to Bowl
games. She loved walking on the beach collecting shells and rocks.
Katt was generous and kind and always willing to help anyone.
In keeping with Kathy's wish, cremation has taken place. A
Celebration of Kathy's life will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at
the Haller Funeral Home from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.
Her family wants to thank the wonderful staff at the Stefanie
Speilman Comprehensive Breast Center and Adena Hospice for the
quality of care that they provided.
