February 15, 1941 — April 14, 2025

Kathryn "Katy" Emma Jones left this life and crossed over to her final life on Monday, April 14, 2025, due to an extended illness.  Katy was born in Chillicothe, Ohio on February 15, 1941, to Walter D. and Mildred (Weislogel) Smith who are deceased.

She had 4 sisters, Patricia and Charlene Smith, Martha "Marty" Overly and Virginia "Ginny" Baird. She also had 1 brother, Robert "Bob" Smith.  All of Katie's siblings are deceased.

On September 25, 1960, she married Carl L Jones, who is deceased.  They had 3 daughters, Carla Wrightsel, Charmin Zambarrano, and Charlotte Jones.  They also had 1 son, Garrett L Jones.  Charlotte and Garrett are deceased.

Katy had several grandchildren, of her grandchildren Allegra Zambarrano is deceased, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

She had 2 ex-sons-in-law, Ron Zambarrano and Todd Wrightsel who she loved dearly.

In 1959, Katy graduated from Chillicothe High School.  Growing up she was a member of the 4-H.  She was the co-owner of Jones Marathon, 6-J Discount Gas, and Hall's Garage.  She retired from Unioto Schools after working for many years there.  She started Driving Bus and finished as the Secretary of the School Superintendent, having worked in many positions in the school during her time there.  Earlier in her life she worked for Ratcliff and Street Law Services.  Katy was also a member of Salem Community Church

She had 4 very special friends, John Copper, Jamie Hamilton, Gayle Cruise, and Sharon Bosworth.

Haller Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.  A graveside service for the family will take place after Katie's cremation.  Burial for her, her husband and her son will take place at Rowland Memorial Cemetery on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 2:00 pm.
