Kathryn M. Flynn-Dye, 63, of Chillicothe, died October 27, 2022, at the Ohio State University Medical Center, following a several year battle with cancer.
She was born April 26, 1959 in Cincinnati, OH to the late Donald P. and Kathryn Wagner Flynn. On August 8, 1992 she married Robert A. Dye, who survives. Also surviving are two children, Jason Dye, of Chillicothe and Lisa Saunders, of Cardington, OH; two grandchildren, Kaylene McGowen and Jaxson Saunders; 5 siblings, Donald (Barbara) Flynn Jr., Tacoma, WA, Mary Ellen (Jefferey) Van Dyke, Evansville, IN, William (Martha) Flynn, San Antonio, TX, Gemma (Mark) Smith, Greenfield, OH, and Elizabeth Flynn, Chillicothe; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by Ann Flynn-Corwin.
Kathy was a member of St. Benignus Catholic Church, Greenfield and St. Peter Catholic Church, Chillicothe. She was the co-chair of The Corazon de Vida Foundation, Chillicothe.
Kathy touched and formed lifelong relationships and positive impressions in the lives of (too many to count), children in her 41 years in public education. Likewise, she championed and brought to light the causes of her other children. As co-chair of the local chapter of the Corazon de Vida Foundation her efforts helped improve, educate, and sustain the lives of over 700 abandoned children in Baja, Mexico. All the while courageously navigating the battlefield known as Metastatic Breast Cancer in the final 22 years of her life. Kathy Cleared a pathway through uncharted territory as a beacon for those who would follow her on their own cancer voyage. In so doing, Kathy always preserved with humility, recognizing by her often-spoken words "All glory to God", as her witness and testimony as to where her strength and purpose emanated from. There is no doubt that Kathy is now where she was destined to be, where she was born to be, with God. She is therefore closer to us now than she ever was. Love is stronger than death.
A Rosary Service will be held 10:30 am, Monday November 7, 2022, at St. Benignus Catholic Church, Greenfield, followed by The Mass of Christian Burial, Rev. Michael Paranick, Celebrant.
