Katherine Payne

Katherine L. Viney Patterson Payne, 90, of Chillicothe, died October 19, 2015 at Heartland of Chillicothe. She was born March 10, 1925 in Chillicothe to the late W. Harold and Dorothy Powell Viney. Survivors include sons, George (Delores) Patterson, Piketon, Rick (Peggy) Patterson, Chillicothe and Michael Patterson, Frankfort; daughters, Carolyn (Edgar) Scott, Xenia, Margaret (Richard) Brown, Chillicothe and Marquita Cunningham, Georgia; 21 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husbands, George Patterson and John Payne; a son, Robert Patterson; daughter Karen Patterson; two grandsons; sisters, Veda Hurley, Betty Reid; and brothers, Harold Jr., Sidney, Russell, Vernon and Wilbur Viney. Mrs. Payne enjoyed reading and visiting with family. Funeral services will be held 12:00 pm Thursday at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory, Bishop Melvin Maughmer officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at Haller's on Thursday.
