Katherine Patterson

Katherine Evon Patterson, 54, of Chillicothe, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 11, 2017, at the Adena Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness. She was born on August 11, 1962, in Chillicothe, to George Andrew Patterson and Patricia Lee Liggins. In addition to her parents, Katherine is survived by her two brothers, Anthony Patterson, of Columbus, and Kirk Patterson, of Macon, GA; a sister, Robyn Banks, of Columbus; her nephew, Amus Patterson; her aunts and uncles, Richard (Margaret) Brown, Edward (Carolyn) Scott, Roy (Peggy) Patterson, Michael (Marsha) Patterson, Larry (Barbara) Liggins, and Gary (Marsha) Thomas; a special aunt and friend, Marquita Cunningham;  a special friend Larry; as well as numerous other cousins and friends. She is also survived by her beloved cat, Diamond. Katherine was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, George and Katherine Patterson, and her maternal grandparents, Floyd and Nellie Liggins. Katherine was a graduate of Chillicothe High School, Class of 1981. During that time she joined the marching band where she played the clarinet. Following graduation, she went on to work at the VA Medical Center before joining the United States Air Force in 1983. After an honorable discharge in Colorado, Katherine returned to her job in Chillicothe. Most recently, she became a fulltime care taker for her mother Patricia. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, May 18, 2017, at the First Baptist Church in Chillicothe, with Pastor Eric Carson officiating. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 1:30pm until the time of the service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her honor to Haller Funeral Home.
