Karla Snodgrass

Karla Athalia Snodgrass, 53, of Kingston, formerly of Chillicothe went home to rest in the arms of her Heavenly Father on Friday, January 13, 2017 following an extended illness.   Karla was born August 9, 1963 in Chicago, IL and moved to Chillicothe when she was 5 where she had lived in the area, on and off, ever since. She was a 1981 graduate of Chillicothe High School and had worked many years in the retail and restaurant management industries as well as in home health care. Karla is survived by her husband, Boyd Snodgrass, whom she married on December 3, 2005 and who brought many years of joy to her life serving not only as her husband and companion, but also her primary caregiver. She also had a great love for and pride in her three surviving children: Christopher R. Barnett, Lexington, KY; Christol R. Barnett, Danville, KY; and Amanda P. (Todd) Burgett, Grove CIty, OH, and her two granddaughters, Nevaeh Burgett and Lacie Burgett. Two step-children, Dane Lenzi, Acworth, GA and Teresa Lenzi, Chillicothe also survive. Karla also leaves behind several siblings including sister, Nadyne McAdams; nephew: Benjamin (Angela) McAdams; niece: Beth Ann Brown, all of Chillicothe, as well as many good and cherished friends she has met along the way. They were a true blessing in her life. In addition, Karla leaves behind a special aunt, Juanita (Tom) Janes, New Castle, IN and uncle, Philip (Joyce) Stewart, Ashville, OH; pastor and friend, Mitch Salyers; stepfather, Arthur Swadner, Cincinnati, OH; and good friend and former mother-in-law, Justine Barnett, Burgin, KY. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.   Visitation for Karla will be Friday, January 20, 2017 from 12:00-2:00pm with her funeral immediately following at 2:00pm, at Haller Funeral Home & Crematory, Following cremation, Karla's ashes will be laid to rest with her mother, Alvena Williams Swadner, at Springbank Cemetery, Yellowbud, OH.
