Karl F. Brown, Sr., 78, of Chillicothe, passed away unexpectedly at 12:37pm Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at his home. He was born May 26, 1934, in Chillicothe, to the late Charles E. and Muriel Roberts Brown. On August 14, 1955, he married the former Marion L. Liggins, who survives. Also surviving are his children Kyle (Brown) Barfield; Monty (Brown) and Vincent Branson; Tally Brown; and Karl Brown II, all of Chillicothe; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; a sister Jane Hodgen, of Oberlin; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter Kim Brown Taylor; son Timothy Brown; a great-granddaughter; a grandson; six brothers and four sisters. Mr. Brown retired from DuPont in Circleville. He also worked for many years as custodian for Calvary Lutheran Church. He served his country in the US Army as a paratrooper. Karl enjoyed fishing and spending time walking with his grandchildren. He attended Quinn Chapel AME Church, where funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, August 25, with Pastor Acie Collins officiating. Military graveside services conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 6-8pm at Haller Funeral Home.
