Karen Lunsford

Karen Lee Lunsford, 82, of Chillicothe, died at 5:58 p.m, Friday January 1st at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Karen was born June 30, 1933 in Kingston, OH. She was the daughter of Ruth and Bert Jackson. On November 8, 1951 she married Jack L. Lunsford, who passed away on September 15, 1993. Karen dedicated her life to raising her children. She was born to be a wife and mother and was the best at both. She had a smile that would light up a room and will be missed more than words can say. She is survived by her children Jack Lunsford Jr. of Chillicothe, Sheila (Bill) Crum, of Ashville, Cindy (Jack) Hicks, David Lunsford, Teresa (Alan) Seward, and Scott Lunsford, all of Chillicothe and Ted (Debbie) Lunsford of Hilliard; grandchildren Gayle Lunsford, Brian (Laurel) Lunsford, Will (Brandy) Gougeon, Steve (Becky) Clever, Seth (Lorrain) Clever, Kevin, Kyle and Kristin Lunsford; her great-grandchildren Freedom, William and Clark Gougeon and Serena, Pacey and Reed Clever, and her sister Roberta Shaw. In addition to her family, there were some very special people in her life, Joyce & Patty Congrove, sisters-in-law, her cousin Barbara Shepard, her life long friend Pat Jackson and Amada Smallwood who assisted with her care. Her daughters Pamela and Jill, her grandson Jason Gougeon, and her daughters-in-law Pat Lunsford and Sally Elliott, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Wednesday at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory, Pastor Obadiah Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Friends may call 4-7 pm Tuesday at Haller's.
