Apr 13, 1998 — Jun 26, 2026

Reynoldsburg

It is with profound sadness and immeasurable love that we announce the passing of Kane, who left this world on June 26, 2026, at the age of 28, following complications from the catastrophic spinal cord injury he sustained on September 24, 2024.

Kane lived life with a fearless spirit and a heart full of love. He had a passion for anything with a motor. Whether he was riding dirt bikes, four-wheelers, or simply enjoying the thrill of horsepower, he felt most at home outdoors, surrounded by family, friends, and adventure. He never met a stranger, and his smile, laughter, and sense of humor left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Of all the titles he held, the one he treasured most was DAD. His greatest joy in life was his son, Karter. The bond they shared was immeasurable, and there was nothing Kane loved more than spending time with him. Karter was the center of Kane's world, and Kane's unconditional love for his son will live on forever.

On September 24, 2024, Kane's life changed forever after suffering a devastating spinal cord injury from a bicycle accident. For nearly two years, he faced challenges that most could never imagine. Through every setback, every procedure, and every difficult day, he displayed extraordinary courage, strength and patience. His resilience inspired everyone who walked beside him during his journey. Though his body grew weary, he still had the ability to light up a room and smile through the pain.

At the end of March 2026, Kane made one of the most important decisions of his life when he was baptized and accepted Jesus Christ as his savior. His faith brought him comfort and peace, and his family finds solace in knowing he is now healed and at rest.

Kane was born on April 13, 1998 to Sabrina (Himelrick) Angus

Kane is preceded in death by his beloved fiancée, Madison "Maddy" Grey whom he adored; his paternal grandmother Beverly (Speakman) Johnson; his paternal grandfather, Floyd Gillum; his aunt Cindy (Taylor) Gillum and his rambunctious uncle, Jerry Halcomb

He leaves behind his beloved 6 year old son, Karter Gillum (Swift); his mother, Sabrina (Himelrick) Angus; his brother, Logan Gillum; his sisters Lillie Angus and Karah (Ewing) Angus; his brother-in-law, Scott "Andy" Ewing; his paternal grandfather, Kenneth Johnson, Sr.; his maternal grandfather, Phillip Himelrick; his maternal grandmother, Lisa (Benson) Kemmer (John Kemmer); as well as a great-grandmother, Margie Benson. As well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and countless friends whose lives were forever changed by knowing him.

Although our hearts are broken beyond words, we find comfort in knowing Kane is no longer suffering. His legacy of strength, courage, and unconditional love will continue through his son and through every life he touched. He will be remembered every time an engine roars, a trail is ridden, friends gather to laugh, or his family shares stories of the young man who lived boldly and loved deeply.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to assist with funeral expenses. Your support and generosity during this difficult time are deeply appreciated. To honor Kane's life and the things he loved, the family asks that those attending his services wear red and black as a tribute to him.

A Message from His Mom - "My sweet boy, there are no words that could ever express how much I love you. I loved you more than my own life from the moment you were born, and I always will. Watching you fight with such incredible strength made me prouder than I could ever say. My heart broke the day you got hurt and it shattered the day you left us, but I find peace knowing you are no longer in pain and scared. Until we meet again in Heaven, I will never stop loving you, and I will carry you in my heart every single day. You will forever be one of my greatest loves, greatest prides, and my son. Rest peacefully, Kane. I will love you always.
