June Delores Knox, 82, of Chillicothe, passed away late Thursday night, May 1, 2025 at her home, following an extended illness.

She was born June 5, 1942 in Canton, Ohio, daughter of the late William A. and Sarah Jane (Bowen) Hanson. On February 8, 1990, she married her beloved husband, William "Bill" Lew Knox, who survives.

Also surviving is her daughter, Candice L. Conoly, of Greenville, NC; bonus daughters, Tamara "Tammy" L. (Sean) Rote, Gallipolis, Ohio, and Gwendolyn "Wendy" S. Knox, Chillicothe; grandchildren, Zachary I. (Eva) Knox, Columbus, Bradley G. Woolum, Chillicothe, Stuart R. (Harmony) Cole, Glenwood City, WI, James "Alex" A. Smith, of Fayetteville, NC, Caleb S. Rote, Rio Grande, OH, Samantha L. Conley, Sneads Ferry, NC, Joshua M. Smith, Fayetteville, NC, Rachel E. Rote, Gallipolis, Hailie A. Smith, Greenville, NC, and Darius S. K. Pishvazadeh, Rio Grande; great-grandchildren, Emma M. Cole, Glenwood City, WI, Gideon B. Knox, Columbus, Delilah M . Cole, Glenwood City, Jensen A. Cole, Glenwood City, and Catalina E. R. Walters, Gallipolis; as well as numerous special nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Sgt. First Class James Ralph Roach; two beloved children, David H. Roach, and Cynthia A. Smith; and her brother, Ret. Sgt. Jack W. (Dodi) Hanson.


The family would like to extend a sincere and special thank you to the Area Agency on Aging District 7, Comfort and Care Health Services LLC, and the National Church Residences Hospice Team.


In accordance with her wishes, cremation services will be performed under the direction of Haller Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at the Sherrodsville Memorial Gardens at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to be made to the Alzheimer's Association or a local charity of the donor's choice.
