June E. Bales, 85, of Chillicothe, passed from this life at 8:13pm on Saturday, April 8, 2023.
She was born September 8, 1937, in Chillicothe, Ohio, daughter of the late Charles and Gladys Henry. On May 4, 1957, she married the love of her life, Robert G. Bales, Jr., who preceded her in death on September 3, 2005.
Surviving is her son, Jeffrey (Jan Graves) Bales; three granddaughters, Victoria Bales, Alexandria (James) Starr, and Ashley Scaggs; three great-grandchildren, Trenton, Harley, and Ella Starr; close friends and cousins, Carol (Roger) Palmer, and Billie Walsh; as well as numerous other beloved cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her two sons, Charles Christopher Bales and J. Douglas Bales.
June was a graduate of Chillicothe High School, class of 1955. She went on to work and retire from WearEver Aluminum following many years of employment. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and enjoyed attending when able. In her younger years, she enjoyed going dancing at the Elks with her husband. Most recently, June looked forward to attending lunch get-togethers with her classmates on every 2 nd Tuesday of the month. In her free time, she liked to play games on her tablet, cross-stitching, and reading a good book. But most of all, she cherished spending time with her family.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, April 17, 2023 at the Haller Funeral Home with Pastor Jamie Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may join the family for visitation from 12:00pm until the time of the service on Monday.
