Julius DeGarmo, 88, of Chillicothe, died at 3:52pm Tuesday, April 11, 2006, in Adena Regional Medical Center. He was born December 23, 1917, in Ross Co. to the late Harry and Flossie Haskins DeGarmo. On November 10, 1940, he married the former Edith L. Hafler, who survives. Also surviving are his son and daughter-in-law Bruce Timothy and Janet DeGarmo, Kingston; son Bryan A. DeGarmo; daughters Gloria J. Ault and her special friend Gordon Bauer; and Teresa A. DeGarmo-Bales, all of Chillicothe; grandchildren Molly Beth Ault and her special friend Seth Bauer, and Harrison Lee DeGarmo and his wife Malinda; a great-grandchild Skyler Marie DeGarmo; nieces Annette (Bobby) Immell, Denise (Bernard) Schumann; a sister Jean Carrere, Fallbrook, CA; and his adored pets "Ginger" and "Sadie". He was predeceased by a brother, Harry DeGarmo, Jr. Julius retired from the B & O Railroad after 41 years of service as an Engineer. He worked with the 3C's and was a US Army Veteran of WWII. He was a member of the American Legion, the VFW, the AmVets and the B.P.O.E. Lodge 52. He enjoyed many years of golfing with his friends. At his request, private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in Floral Hills Memory Gardens under the direction of Haller Funeral Home. Calling hours will not be observed.
