Julie D. West, 50, of Chillicothe, formerly of Weirton WV, died peacefully at home surrounded by family at 2:10am March 3, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born December 19, 1975, in Steubenville, OH to Robert D. "Bob" and Deborah K. "Debbie" (Robinson) Elliott, who survive. On June 16, 2000, she married Robert "Rob" West, and together they enjoyed over 25 years.
In addition to her husband and parents, Julie is survived by her daughters: Olivia and Alexa West, both of Chillicothe; Rob's parents Bob and Linda West, of Weirton WV; sister Lucinda Elliott, of Springfield, OH; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her grandparents; and 3 uncles: Dave, Gary, and Bruce Elliott.
Julie graduated from Weir Senior High and earned her undergraduate degree and Doctorate of Pharmacy from Duquesne University. She completed a pharmacy practice residency at the Ann Arbor MI VA, was board certified in pharmacotherapy and was a certified diabetic educator. She worked as a clinical pharmacist for the Chillicothe VA Medical Center for 25 years. She attended the First Church of God, was a former member of the Junior Civic League and Southern Ohio Survivors. She loved baking, gardening, reading, walking, watching her girls' sporting activities and traveling to the beach, especially the Caribbean.
The family will receive friends from 4-7pm Friday March 6th at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. Her funeral service will be held at 10am Saturday, March 7 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery.
We would like to thank the doctors and staff of the Stefanie Spielman Breast Center, The James Cancer Center, MD Anderson Cancer Center and National Church Residence's Hospice for their loving dedicated care of Julie over the past 17 years.
