Julia Streicher

Julia K. "Judy" Streicher, 83, of Chillicothe, died at 2:56am on January 20, 2015, at National Church Residences-Chillicothe. She was born August 14, 1931, in Kansas City, MO to the late Harold H. and Mildred (Murphy) Whittington. On April 26, 1952, she married Gordon F. Streicher, who preceded her in death November 21, 2001. Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law Victoria (Daniel) Roy; Lynda "Lyn" (Robert) Smith, all of Chillicothe; grandchildren: Jennifer Brandenburg; Meredith (Andrew) Tomlinson; Ryan (Samantha) Smith; Taylor Smith; Whitnie Smith; Sam Streicher and Philip Streicher; 3 great-granddaughters and 1 great-grandson. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son R. Whit Streicher and a brother Dr. Richard Whittington. Judy had attended Southern Seminary in Virginia and then finished her training at Flushing Hospital, receiving her Medical Technician Certificate. She was a co-owner, along with her husband and son, of Chillicothe Camera from 1980-2006. She was also very active with the Thrift Shop and Easter Seals, where she had served as President. Judy enjoyed golfing and reading. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, March 28, at the Haller Funeral Home with Rev. William Hahn officiating. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to one of the following: American Diabetes Assoc, Central OH Office, 471 E. Broad St., Suite 1630, Columbus, OH 43215; Alzheimer's Assoc., Central OH Chapter, 1379 Dublin Rd., Columbus, OH 43215; or a charity of the donor's choice.
