Julia Harper

Julia E. Harper, 91, of Chillicothe, died at 6:15am Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at Heartland of Chillicothe. She was born February 19, 1920, in Newark, OH, to the late Louis and Florence (Graves) Knost. In 1956, she married K. Lamar Harper, who preceded her in death in 1994. Surviving are son and daughter-in-law Rick and Lisa Harper; granddaughters Brittany and Morgan Harper; step-grandchildren Scott (Cindy) McNeal; Mark McNeal, all of Chillicothe; and Sharon (Bob) Belliveau, Miamisburg. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her step-daughter Loretta McNeal and a special cousin Margaret Bush. Mrs. Harper was a Graduate of Chillicothe High School, Class of 1938. She then received her Bachelor's Degree from Ohio University, Athens in 1944. She was a former member of Calvary Lutheran Church and had attended Walnut St. United Methodist Church. She was an elementary school teacher having taught in Chillicothe and Londonderry. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and Beta Sigma Phi Sororities. She enjoyed reading and shopping. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Heartland of Chillicothe for their care. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Monday, September 26, in the Haller Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 5-7pm at Haller Funeral Home.
