On Monday January 12th 2026 at the age of 84, Judy Collins stepped out of this world into her eternal reward! She was born on October 15th 1941 to Marshall and Mary Louise Fields both of Jackson, Ohio. She was employed at Adena Regional Health Center for nearly 30 years. During which time she formed many meaningful relationships and touched many lives. It is often tragedy or crisis situations that brings someone to the hospital. In such times it is a normal human reaction to be confronted with emotions of fear, uncertainty and even dread. Such an environment was the perfect place for Judy to be. Her presence brought a sense of peace and stability.
Her life was a gentle but strong reminder that God truly has the whole world in His hands, and even if situations don’t turn out the way we were hoping, we can trust that God is working it all together for the good. Judy was married to the love of her life Jack Collins for over 50 years, together they parented three wonderful children. She had so much love for her kids, grandkids and (yes even great grandkids). One of her greatest joys in this life was watching them grow and discover their place in this world. Though Judy had three biological children she was a mother figure to many in her community and the churches she attended.
“As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you; and you will be comforted over Jerusalem.” Isaiah 66:13 NIV
In a sense this passage describes her life. No matter the challenges you were facing in life a hug and word of encouragement from Judy was all the comfort you would need to remind you that you are loved and you are not alone in this. J udy had an unwavering faith in Christ and through the years was a member of several different churches. Many in our community know her from the days of freedom house. During nearly the last decade of her life she was a proud member of Chillicothe First Assembly. Over the last few years her declining health made it very difficult for her to get out of the house often preventing her from attending services in person, but she never missed an online service and was a faithful supporter of ministry financially and in prayer.
She was preceded in death by her parents Marshall and Mary Louise Fields, Kay Fields (sister), Jack Collins (husband), JC Collins (son), and grandson Clark Collins.
She is survived by sister Margery (Pat) DeMarco. Children Jerry Collins, Jana (Jeremey) Carruth. Grandchildren Clayton (Holly) Collins, Cristian (Sydney) Collins, Megan (Jon) Murray, Jordan Collins, Landyn and Avery Carruth. Great grandchildren Zephaniah Collins, Finnley and Oliver Murray. Daughter in law Lynn Collins. And many special friends
A Celebration of Judy's Life will be held at Haller Funeral Home, 1661 Western Ave Chillicothe OH 45601, on Tuesday January 20th at 6pm. The family will receive friends from 3pm until the time of the service.
