Joyce Werner

Joyce Rose Werner, 74, of Kingston, OH formerly of Mechanicsburg, PA passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Adena Regional Medical Center. She was born on May 27, 1941, in Lawrence, Mass. to the late Armando Ciardello and Carmela Guglieri. On July 19, 1959, she married the Jerry L. Werner, who preceded her in death. Surviving are daughters: Connie (Vince) Perhach of Kingston, OH, Caroline A. Picking of Mechanicsburg,PA, and son: Lt. Col. Stuart E. (Mari) Werner of Mechanicsburg, PA; grandchildren: Matthew (Morgan)Picking, Anthony Grottola, Morgan (Alex) Pettit, Vincent (Chelsea) Perhach, Andrew and Anne Werner,Zachery Riggleman; and great-granddaughters: Katherine Quinn Rose Pettit and Shelby Hammond, and another great-granddaughter due in August; a sister-in-law, Peggy Krout; many cousins, a niece and nephews. Along with parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Kenneth Krout and Elwood Werner; and 2 nephews. Joyce retired from Hardee's Food Systems, Inc. of PA after 19 years of service. She was a member of the Red Hat Society Chapter # 54071 of Kingston, Ohio, the Kingston Neighborhood Watch, a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Union Fire Company, Manchester, PA. Joyce was an avid BINGO player, loved putting puzzles together and playing cards with her grandchildren. In her younger years, she was a synchronized swimmer. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all. The family would like to thank all the people who have taken care of Joyce over the years including Green Township Fire Department, the staff at Signature Health Care, and some special nurses and aids. A Christian Prayer service will be conducted at 6:30pm Tuesday, March 8, at Haller Funeral Home & Crematory, with Rev. William Hahn officiating. Inurnment will follow in Rolling Green Cemetery, Pennsylvania, at the convenience of the family. Friends may call from 4-6:30pm Tuesday at Haller's.
