Joy Shabazz

Joy A. Shabazz, 62, of Columbus, died February 23, 2016, at St. Ann Hospital, Westerville. She was born September 10, 1953 in Chillicothe to the late Edward and Sarah Woodfork Lynch Sr. On October 17, 1982 she married Samuel K. Shabazz, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Malikah (Antwan Harp) and Jamilah Shabazz, of Columbus; a grandchild, Zayvion Harp; two brothers, Edward (Janelle) Lynch Jr., of Columbus and Roderick Jay (Kimberly) Lynch, Chillicothe; and several nieces; nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Rev. William and James Lynch, and a sister, Sondra Thompson. Joy worked for the Eddie Bauer company. She loved to bake, watch movies, was an avid reader and enjoyed outdoor festivals. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory, Pastor Clifford Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call 11-1 pm Saturday at Haller's.
