Joy Lynn Miller

Joy Lynn (Spradlin) Miller, 70, went to be in the arms of the Lord & her beloved Sam on February 5, 2026, in Columbus, Ohio. On July 14, 1955, she was born to the late Raleigh and Helen Spradlin. She had three siblings; Jimmy, Sharon (Robert) Robertson, of El Paso, Texas, and Daniel (Alice-Joy) Spradlin, of Newark, Ohio.

Joy was raised in Circleville, Ohio and graduated from Circleville High School in 1973, where she was in the marching band. She wanted to pursue a career as an archaeologist, but ended up being a stay at home mom after expecting her first child. Joy had married Harold R. Boysel, of Williamsport, Ohio and had three children with him.

She really enjoyed camping, boating, crafting for different craft bazaars, baking, and cake decroating classes. She and Sam also had their own DJ business named S&J DJ's, where they would do parties and work at the Eagles and many other places as well. After her children grew up, Joy worked as an activities director at both Westmoreland & Traditions of Chillicothe. She would drive the bus to outings and appointments for residents.

On February 27, 1987, Joy married her beloved Sam and they began a life together, a blended family of five children. Danny Boysel, of Columbus, Ohio, Erin Miller (Gerald) Fowler, of Chillicothe, Ohio, Devan Boysel, of Circleville, Ohio, Danielle Boysel Smales, formerly of Columbus, Ohio, and Sara L. Miller, of Chillicothe, Ohio. Joy was preceded in death by her daughter, Danielle Boysel-Smales on March 12, 2024.

Joy left this world loved by so many, some of which she never knew she had made such an impact on with her big beaming smile and contagious personality.

Joy and Sam shared many grandchildren and great-grandchildren together; Haleigh Foster, of Cicrleville, Ohio, Kaitlynn (Laura) Fowler, of Chillicothe, Ohio, Lucas Taylor, Beau Taylor, of Lansing, Michigan, Patrick Boysel, of Circleville, Ohio, Kamerin Fowler, of Chillicothe, Ohio, Wayne Robert Smales III, Hannah Smales, both of Columbus, Ohio, Andrew Carrol, Chillicothe, Ohio, Chase Carrol, Jackson, Ohio, Lillian Jenkins, Jackson, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Silas, Jeffrey, Dominick, Jaden, and Bentley; great-great-grandchildren, Serenity, Novalynn, and Nolan; special friend she had met when working at Traditions, Carla Featheringill; grandkids that she loved as her own, Josh, Savannah, and Paul. She also had three dogs that she loved so dearly that preceded her in death.

In accordance with Joy's wishes there will be no public services and cremation will take place.
