Joy Ellen (Michael) Junk, 84, of Groveport, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 9
,
2024, at Genesis Hospice Care in Zanesville, after a brief illness.
Joy was born on August 29, 1939, in Chillicothe, the daughter of the late John Francis and Mary Louise Michael. Joy is survived by two sons, David Lee (Lori) Junk of Mt. Perry, Steven Michael (Jessica) Junk of Pickerington, grandchildren, Jonathan D. (Olivia) Junk, Sarah A. Junk, Mason P. Rawson, Audrianna M. Junk, Jameson M. Junk, one sister, Sharon E. McCorkle, and Judy (Goebel) Davis, a dear friend. Joy was preceded in death by little sister Barbara Jean.
Joy attended St. Mary School and was a 1957 graduate of Chillicothe High School. After school she worked at the Citizens National Bank and then was a caregiver for the elderly. Joy loved the beach, shopping for antiques, country crafts, and giving M&M candies and ice cream to her grandkids each and ever visit, just has her mother Mary had always done.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, February 16, 2024, at St. Margaret Cemetery, Chillicothe, Rev. Frank Brown officiating. In lieu of flowers the family has requested you please consider a donation to the Genesis Hospice Care Morrison House, 713 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio 43701 or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
