Josephine Smith

Josephine A. "Joanne" Smith, 65, of Chillicothe, died at 11:28pm, December 24, 2012, in Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. She was born July 6, 1947, in Detroit, MI, to the late Joseph V. and Mary Sue (Getterd) Jankowski. On April 26, 1980, she married William Frank Smith, who preceded her in death on May 20, 2010. Surviving is her son Dock Smith; sisters and brothers-in-law Mary (Clyde) Sutherland; Faye (Richard) Magill, all of Chillicothe; Ina (David) Wireman, Norwalk, OH; a brother Dale Burnem, Detroit, MI; and numerous nieces and nephews. Joanne was a devoted mother and wife and will be missed by those who knew her. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family under the direction of Haller Funeral Home. Calling hours will not be observed.
