Joseph D. Ware, 70, of Bainbridge, died at 9:00pm Monday, March 26, 2018, at The Ohio State University Medical Center following an extended illness. He was born November 22, 1947, in Columbus, OH to the late Joe and Ruth Louise (Shaeffer) Ware. On July 8, 1976, he married Linda Mae Klingbeil, who survives. Also surviving are his daughters and sons-in-law Katara (Matt) Zachmann, Leslie (Justin) Pitts; son and daughter-in-law Joseph (Kristin) Ware II; 12 grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law Susan (Thomas) Notestone, Phyllis (Robert) Huffman; a brother and sister-in-law Charles (Angel) Ware; brothers-in-law Michael Miller, Gus (Joyce) Klingbeil; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; a brother Alan Ware; and a sister Linda Miller. Joe was a 1966 graduate of Huntington High School. He then earned his Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Ohio University and Masters in Nursing from The Ohio State University. He worked as a Registered Nurse for the VA Medical Center in Chillicothe for over 37 years. He was also a Boy Scout Troop Leader, a baseball coach, member of F & AM, Western Sun Lodge 91, and member of the Ohio Nursing Practice Committee. Joe was an avid hunter and fisherman who, after his 2004 retirement, enjoyed every summer catching the big ones at his lake home in Minnesota. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held 1pm Saturday, March 31, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Bobby Rose officiating. The family will receive friends from 11am until 1pm Saturday at the funeral home.
