Joseph A. Seeley, 77, of Chillicothe, passed away early Tuesday morning, October 5, 2021 at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, following an extended illness.
He was born July 25, 1944, in Franklin Furnace, Ohio, son of the late Amos and Helen (Wills) Seeley. On October 4, 1969, he married his beloved wife Marly (Hoffmann) Seeley who survives.
Also surviving is their son, Christopher Seeley; four siblings, Carol Knapp, Nancy Vinson, Jean Seeley, and Paul (Bev) Seeley; a sister-in-law, Catherine Seeley; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members; as well as his good friends, Tom Stanhope, and Roy (Linda) Miller. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Seeley, and a brother-in-law, John Vinson.
Joseph was a graduate from Franklin Furnace Green High School, class of 1962. He went on to obtain a degree in Agricultural Economics from the Ohio State University in 1966, and continued his education by graduating with a Master's of Business Administration from the University of Utah in 1972. He later passed the Certified Public Accountant examination in 1977. Following his extensive education venture, he went on to work as an accountant at the Kenworth Trucking Company for over 30 years before retiring in 2007. He attended the Calvary Lutheran Church in Chillicothe, and was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army. In his free time, he loved spending time farming and tending to his cattle.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at the Haller Funeral Home with Pastor Anne Pairan officiating. Friends may join the family for visitation from 1:30pm until the time of the service.
