Joseph E. Rouleau, 75, of Chillicothe, died at 5:00am Sunday January 20, 2008, in Adena Regional Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00am Friday January 25, in St. Mary Catholic Church, Rev. Lawrence Hummer, Celebrant. Military graveside services conducted by the Ross Co. Veteran Honor Guard will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 5-7:30pm at Haller Funeral Home, where a wake service will be held at 7:30pm. Joe was born August 29, 1932, in Woonsocket, RI, to the late Joseph Arther and Alice Marie Berube Rouleau. On October 15, 1982, he married the former Delma A. Riley, who survives. Also surviving are his children Dennis (Linda) Rouleau; Teresa (Richard) Lapre; Michael Rouleau; Jonathan Rouleau; Joseph Aaron Rouleau; Francois Rouleau; Jason Fath; and Zach Fath; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; sisters Cecil (Danny) Tondre; and Janine Becton; his father-in-law and mother-in-law Marvin and Della Riley; and sisters-in-law Marlene (Steven Michael "Mike") Holman; and Maxie (Randy) Good. He was predeceased by his daughters Katherine Moquin and Janine Williams; and a nephew David Tondre. Joe retired from the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, following 30 years of service. He was Chief of Voluntary Service. He then worked as Personnel Director and Transit Director for the City of Chillicothe, was Co-founder of JER-JLM Computer Systems, Interim Director for the Majestic Theater, Choir Director for St. Paul's Episcopal Church and a Security Officer for Securitas at Kenworth. Joe served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict and served as the Army Band Master. He graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 1965. He was a percussionist with the Boston Pops, studied conducting under Arthur Fiedler, and was a conductor/director of various orchestra and choral groups in New England. Joe was a past Contributing Editor for the Chillicothe Gazette, a founding Board Member for the Chillicothe Pump House Art Gallery, and past member of the Civil Air Patrol. Joe was also active with Sister City Relations with Minsk, Belarus. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Mary Catholic Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society of St. Mary Church, 61 S. Paint St., Chillicothe.
