Joseph B. Malone, 82, of Canal Winchester, OH, formerly of Chillicothe, died at 9:02pm Friday November 21, 2008, in his home following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, November 25, in the Haller Funeral Home, with his son Joseph Keith Malone and grandson Keith Brian Malone officiating. Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard, will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 5-8pm on Monday at Haller Funeral Home. Joseph was born November 18, 1926, in Ross Co. to the late Gilbert B. and Anna M. Maddy Malone. On January 19, 1944, he married the former Mary G. Coon, who survives. Also surviving are his sons and daughters-in-law Joseph Keith (Mary Ann) Malone, of Utica, OH; Bryan Kent (Sandie) Malone, of Hamilton, OH; daughter and son-in-law Karen Kay (Randall) Boring, of Canal Winchester; 7 grandchildren: Camelia (Ronald) McClure; Alena (Stewart) Lowery; Keith Brian (Angela) Malone; Tonya (Brian) Shipp; Michelle Morgan; Stephen (Cindy) Rogers; Bryan (Kelly) Malone; 19 great-grandchildren; a brother Luther Malone; sisters Osie Deal; Ruth Keyser; Helen Malone; Maryanna Johnson; and a sister-in-law Margaret Malone, all of Chillicothe. He was predeceased by a sister Martha Malone; a brother David Malone; and brothers-in-law Donald Deal, Thurlan Keyser and Bill Johnson. Joe retired from the Mead Paper Co. in 1982. He also was the owner for 31 years of the former Joe's Texaco located on US 23 south. Joe served his country during WWII in the US Army.
