Joseph "Sonny" Knights, 75, of Chillicothe, died Friday, August 22, 2008, in his home with his family. Son of the late Reverend Allen Knights, Sr. and Anna (McCoy) Knights, Joseph was born October 31, 1932 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Gloria Toni (LaRue) Knights. He is survived by two sons, Keith/Linda Knights and Charles/Deborah Callihan; and two daughters Karen/Jose Matos and Kim/Isaac Asamoah Ansah; three brothers, Henry/Eula Knights, James/Sevetta Knights and Sylvester/Elsie Knights; two sisters, Corrine Darden and Geneva Knights; 10 grandsons, Stephen, Bryan, Ramadan, Caleb, Babu, Jose Jr., Miquel, Charles Jr., Alexster and Jason; 6 granddaughters, Mia, Lisa, Michelle, Katherine, Kristin and Alexandria. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Gloria Toni; one son, Timothy Callihan/Milissa; one brother, Allen Sr./Flora; and two sisters, Esther/Harold Watkins and Daisey Fisher. Mr. Knights retired from the City of Cleveland. He was a US Army Veteran. Funeral services will be held 9:00 am Saturday in the Haller Funeral Home with Rev. J. Troy Gray and Pastor Obediah Harris officiating. Graveside services will be held in Floral Hills Memory Garden at 1:00 pm Saturday. Calling hours will not be observed. The family requests that if you wish to send arrangements for the service, that they be living plants. The family is creating a memorial garden outside his bedroom window. Thank you.
