Joseph Hollis

Joseph E. Hollis, 77, of Chillicothe, died 8:55 am, August 4, 2010, at Heartland of Chillicothe, following an extended illness. He was born February 5, 1933 in Chillicothe to Eugene T. and Bernadine C. Niks Hollis. Survivors include his sons, Tony (Darcie) Hollis, of Gahanna, and John (Rae) Hollis, of Joliet, IL; six grandchildren, Zachary, Joshua, Ryan, Tyler, Tara, and Cory Hollis; four step-grandchildren, Seth, Sophie, and Samy Tummillo and Sawyer See; two great-grandchildren, Taya and Tayla Hollis; his fiancée, Sue Delong; three sisters, Eva (Melvin) States; Rita (Dale) Perry, and Joan (David) Harper; two brothers, Donald (Jane) Hollis and Nick (Kathy Knutson) Hollis; and a sister-in-law, Venita Hollis. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Betty Park and a brother, Danny Hollis. Joe retired from Chilpaco as a shipping supervisor. He like anything fast, such as cars, airplanes and motorcycles. He also loved good music. His children and grandchildren were most important to him. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 600. Due to renovations at St. Peter Church, Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am, Monday, at St. Mary Church, Rev. Lawrence Hummer, Celebrant. Friends may call 2-5 pm Sunday at Haller Funeral Home, where a wake service will be held at 5:00 pm.
