Joseph Clarke

Joseph R. Clarke, 78, of Chillicothe, died Thursday, January 31, 2008, in his home following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held 10:00am Monday, February 4, 2008, at the Haller Funeral Home with Pastor Tad Grover officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 3-5pm at Haller Funeral Home. Joseph was born December 14, 1929, in Fayette Co., OH to the late Mathew Quinn and Helen Pauline Smith Clarke. On November 22, 1953, he married the former Betty K. Elliott, who survives. Also surviving are his sons and daughters-in-law Steven (Terri) Clarke, Beaver Creek, OH; J. Quinn (Katherine) Clarke, Hilliard, OH; 3 grandsons; a granddaughter; and a brother and sister-in-law Charlie (Sue) Clarke, Clarksburg, OH. He was predeceased by a sister, Evelyn J. Pratt. Joseph retired from Owens-Corning as a Senior Systems Manager. He had also worked at the Mead Paper Co. and as a farmer. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Ohio University. He served his country in the US Army, was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and F & AM, Scioto Lodge #6.
