Joseph F. Buettner, 84, of Chillicothe, formerly of Spring Hill, FL, and a 30 years resident of Massapequa Park, Long Island, NY, died 3:50 pm, Monday, May 7, 2007 in the Adena Regional Medical Center. He was born January 21, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY to Ferdinand and Elizabeth Balweg Buettner. On June 9, 1951 he married Helen Toher, who preceded him in death August 7, 1993. Survivors include two daughters, JoAnn (Thomas) White, of Frankfort, OH and Jeanne Gray, of North Edison, NJ; two sons, Lawrence (Myra) Buettner, of Long Grove, IL and James Buettner of of Crawford, NJ; five grandchildren, Christopher and Brian (Jennifer) White, Joseph, Kristen, and Michael Buettner; a sister, Agnes Rizkella, of Tampa, FL; a brother, Charles Buettner, of Charlotte, NC; and a dear friend, Carol Ciaramitaro. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Elizabeth and Eva "Daisy." Mr. Buettner was a World War II Army veteran and had retired from the New York Telephone Co, following over 35 years of service. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, a life member of the Knights of Columbus, served on the Board of Directors of Daystar, managed the construction of the Village of Hope, and was a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
