Jon Brown

Jon L. Brown, 66, of Chillicothe, died at 9:47am, Wednesday, February 10, 2010, at his home following an extended illness. He was born October 18, 1943, in Ross Co., to the late Guy Richard and Mary Elizabeth Thompson Brown. On March 2, 1963, he married the former Judy Hughes, who survives. Also surviving are his daughters and sons-in-law Jodi (Jim) Schmidt, Granville, OH; Jana (JR) Skaggs; Jonda (Mike) Reutinger; and Joanna (Justin) Murray, all of Chillicothe; grandchildren: Hunter, Piper, Bailey, Jonny, Ethan, Wyatt, Dillon, Morgan and Anna; brother and sister-in-law Robert D. (Brenda) Brown, Chillicothe; sister and brother-in-law Joyce (John) Lockwood, Cincinnati; and a sister-in-law Shelley Brown, Chillicothe; He was predeceased by his grandson Dalton Ebert; and his brother Richard Brown. Jon was a graduate of Southeastern High School, Class of 1961. He farmed for 38 years, having worked nearly 4000 acres in Ross Co. He was a member of the Eagles, Aerie 600; Moose Lodge 1626; and the AMVETS Post 4. He liked to fish Lake Okeechobee, FL and enjoyed gardening. Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in Concord Church Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 5-8pm at Haller Funeral Home. Friends are invited to celebrate Jon's Life with the family at the farm, 1223 Schooley Station Rd., at Noon, Saturday, February 13. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Adena Hospice, 111 W. Water St., Chillicothe.
