Johnnie Tanner

Johnnie Lee Tanner, 56, of Chillicothe, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2016, at his home. He was born March 6, 1960, in Chillicothe, to Johnnie A. and the late Janet L. (Johnson) Tanner. In addition to his father, he is survived by his siblings, Hazel A. (Herb Hoosier) Tanner, Terry L. Tanner, and Mark W. (Violet) Tanner, all of Chillicothe, and Alena K. (Jerry) Smith, of Frankfort; his nephews, Terry L. Tanner, Jr., Tyler J. Tanner, Bryson Smith, Gabriel Tanner, Reed Drum, and Gage Tanner; his nieces, Jadyn Smith and Jacey Smith; his special nieces and nephews, Brittany Gross, Brandon Raney, Cori Lewis, Ari Cooper, Nico Grier, and Jiani Grier; special friends, Larry Dennewitz, Nathan McCray, and Sherry Dennewitz; as well as numerous other family members and friends. Johnnie enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing, and coin collecting. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at the Zion Baptist Church, with Rev. Dr. J. Troy Gray officiating. Burial in Caldwell Cemetery will be held on at 10:00am on Saturday, December 10, 2016. Friends may call from 1:00pm on Saturday until the time of the service.
