Johnie Martin

Johnie R. Martin, 70, of Chillicothe, died at 7:29pm Tuesday, August 30, 2005, in Adena Regional Medical Center. He was born May 20, 1935, in Pike Co., KY, to the late Robert Thurman and Ethel Roberts Martin. On August 10, 1990, he married the former Rosemary Norris, who survives. Also surviving are his sons and daughters-in-law Jeffrey S. and Rhonda Martin; and Gregory S. and Beth Martin,; grandchildren Tyler, Katelyn, and Corey Martin; step-children Renee Norris; Randy Wilmoth, Rodney Bushatz, and Rhonda Conley, all of Chillicothe; 9 step-grandchildren; sisters Mary Jane Good, Circleville; Ruth Ann (Wilbur) Davis, Hillsboro; Ellen (Leo) Cox, Bainbridge; a brother Paul (Peach) Martin, Bainbridge; and a sister-in-law Evelyn Martin, Bainbridge. He was predeceased by a brother Elbert "Bud" Martin; sisters Rose Lauerman and Julia Faye Leeth; and an infant brother James Martin. Mr. Martin retired from the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in1990 following 30 years of service. He served in the US Marine Corps. He loved going camping, especially with his grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10:00am Friday, September 2, at the Haller Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Rossman officiating. Burial will follow in Bainbridge Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8pm at Haller Funeral Home.
