John Andrew Williamson passed away peacefully at his home in Frankfort, OH, on January 29, 2021, at the age of 84. Born in Glasgow, Scotland (2 nd of four boys) he was active in scouting; receiving the Queen's Scout award at 16. He earned his engineering degree on scholarship at the University of Glasgow, apprenticing at Stephens & Sons shipyard, and serving in the British Merchant Navy sailing all over the West Indies and Africa. John and Marie Baxter met at a dance, and shortly after their marriage, immigrated to Canada to start their family. They are survived by their Children: Fiona (Thomas), Valerie (Bill), Maureen (Joe), John (Toni) Grandchildren: Brianne, Garrett (Vanessa), Hannah, Madeleine, Elliot, Bridget and Greatgrandchildren: Daniel, Michael and Owen. After Marie's passing, John found love again in 2003 with Sharon Griffith, and they settled into life on the farm. He is survived by his loving wife Sharon, Stepchildren: Casey, Jaqueline (Frank), Bill, Hal and granddaughter Aubrey. John enjoyed a lengthy career overseeing manufacturing plants in Canada and the USA until his retirement in 2002. He was passionate about carpentry; making cradles and rocking horses for grandchildren, cooking and entertaining, and his enthusiasm for vintage British race cars. John's lifelong devotion to the Church and charities brought him great peace and solace. Charities included The United Way, Meals on Wheels, soup kitchens and food banks. Most recently he oversaw renovations at St. Peter Church in Chillicothe and was an active church member until his health prevented it. John's love of bagpipe music and the chance to recount a good story will be dearly missed by his friends and family here and around the world. He was a man of boundless faith, in which we find comfort. A memorial Mass at St. Peter Church will take place at 11am, Saturday September 18, 2021.
