John Ward

John Edward Ward, 88, of Chillicothe, died unexpectedly at 2:53 pm, October 6, 2017, at Grant Medical Center.   He was born September 4, 1929 in Bainbridge to the late Pearl and Jessie Lightle Ward. He married Evelyn Graves, who preceded him in death. Survivors include his daughters, Jackie (Jeff) Trego and Andrea (Doug) Davis, both of Chillicothe and Pam (Del) Baird, of Paducah, KY; grandchildren, Joseph Davis, Steven Trego, Jessica (Bobby) Clark, Cody McNeely, and Taylor Sprouse; great-grandchildren, Emmaline Clark, Mackenzie Clark, Alexis Davis; a special friend, Nancy Taylor and a friend, Danny Taylor. He was preceded in death by sisters and brothers, Ruby Current, Inez Wisecup, Eva Bell, Carl, Floyd, James, Arthur and Curt Ward.   John retired from the US Navy and was a Korean War veteran. He was a long time resident of Chillicothe and retired from the Mead Paper Company after 25 years service. He was a devoted, nurturing father, and had a strong work ethic that kept him busy until his death.   A memorial service and military tribute, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard, will be held at the AMVETS, and announced at a later date. Calling hours will not be observed. Memorial contributions may be made to the AMVETS, Post 4, in his honor, as in his later years he enjoyed his time there.
