John Virgin, Jr., 86, of Chillicothe, died September 4, 2022 at the Adena Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness.
He was born March 18, 1936, in Chillicothe, son of the late John and Monnie (Justice) Virgin. On October 6, 1956, he married Betty Ruth (Jones) Virgin, who preceded him in death December 23, 2020.
John is survived by his sisters, Bonnie (Philip) Weinrich, and Cathy (Charles) Eaton; his children, John A. Virgin, Rodney E. (Regina) Virgin, David D. Virgin, and Cynthia A. (Marty) Cox; grandchildren, David Lee, Ashley, Tonya, Ryan, Russell, Tara, Rachel, and Kayla; and 22 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Ricky L. Virgin; and siblings, Phyllis Ely, Gloria Williamson, Eula Crace, Robert Virgin, and Garry Virgin.
John worked for the City of Chillicothe for 30 years before retiring in 1995. He attended the Kingston Community Church, John Nunley Pastor.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm on Friday, September 9, 2022 at the Haller Funeral Home with Pastor John Nunley officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may join the family for calling hours from 10:00am until the time of the service.
